What’s it all about?
Carry less. See the world. Don’t fear the rain.
In the summer of 2008 my wife and I were on our honeymoon, spending two weeks visiting old friends in the Netherlands. We were on our way to take a long weekend in Cologne, Germany, and we got caught in a rainstorm on the way to the train station. We got soaked, and shivered the rest of the day, for the entire ride. The problem? We were dressed like Americans – lots of denim and cotton and fibers that hold in the wet and the cold.
That day I made a decision that I was going to find new clothes – clothes that would look good even after being packed, that would keep me warm when I wanted to be warm, and cool when I wanted to feel cool. Most of all, I wanted to be fearless in the rain.
The Nylon Carry-All was born.
That desire for sturdy travel clothing has blossomed into a passion for smarter ways to travel all around. This is a passion shared by all those who write for this blog. We’ve each had our lives bettered by our experiences on the road, and we are eager to share what we’ve learned.
